JESUS CHRIST when He lived among men, was both celebrated and crucified. - He was celebrated for healing, helping and saving people with divine power. - He was crucified for just one reason... He declared He was the Son of God!
Jesus Christ is unique among all men for three reasons. - His birth was a miracle. He was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit. - His life was a miracle. He never did anything wrong; he never sinned in his life, ever. Not even once. - His death was a miracle. He rose again the third day after he died. After spending 40 days with his disciples he ascended up to heaven. No one else in all of human civilization has done any of the three or even claimed to have done any of the three. This evidence makes us believe he really was the son of God.
Jesus Christ came to earth to live the perfect life we ought to have lived but couldn’t. And to die the horrible death we ought to have died (for our sins), but now needn’t. He was perfect and sinless. He deserved to be blessed and accepted by God. We are imperfect and sinful. We deserve to be punished and rejected by God. Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again from the dead to ensure that the opposite happened. In dying as our substitute, he took God’s just punishment due to us for our sins upon himself. And, the blessings he earned by his perfect life, he gave to us, along with eternal life.
